This is a great tasting herbal combination formulated specifically to increase and enrich breastmilk production in nursing mothers. (The tea and the tincture are made from the same combination of herbs - it's just two different ways of taking it.)  This combination not only helps increase breastmilk production, but has the additional benefits of helping to alleviate and dispel gas, indigestion and colic in the baby and mother, as well as helping the mother's uterus to regain its normal shape and size after birth. The product is extremely high in vitamins, minerals, iron, protein, essential amino acids, and antioxidants. Many mothers of twins have used this product and nothing else, and successfully made enough breastmilk to feed both babies. Because its such a gentle (yet effective) product, its the one most recommended for mothers of newborns, for babies with sensitive tummies, those who tend towards gassiness, or those in need of extra nutrition.

A suggested dose would be one cup of tea or two droppersful (squeezes) of the tincture three times a day. (Two droppersful of tincture equals one cup of tea.) You should see results within 12-24 hours. If this isn't enough to produce the desired effect, you may increase the frequency of your doses. Many mothers will have a cup of tea or two droppersful of the tincture every time they sit down to nurse or pump, and this is perfectly acceptable. It's a matter of finding the right balance for you and your body. The herbs are highly nutritious and are extremely safe for both mother and baby, with no side effects, even when taken frequently or in large amounts.

Nursing Tea Moringa Blend or Nursing Tincture Moringa Blend may be used in combination with FenugreekGoat’s RueBlessed Thistle, Moringa, Shatavari Tincture, or other herbs traditionally used to increase breastmilk production.

An important note:  One advantage of using Herb Lore’s Nursing Tea/Tincture Moringa Blend is that Fenugreek is NOT an ingredient in our Nursing Tea or Tincture, as not everyone needs its strength, and Fenugreek may not be appropriate for everyone's situation. Fenugreek is a highly effective herb for increasing breastmilk production and has been used successfully by many, but its usage must be consistent and regulated, as inconsistent use can cause inconsistent or even a decrease in breastmilk production.  When Fenugreek is included in a combination product, it is nearly impossible to regulate the amount of Fenugreek that you get in each dose.  One cup of tea might contain three Fenugreek Seeds, another cup eleven.  Another might have seven.  Research has shown that Fenugreek works much like a faucet - when you take the herb, the faucet is on.  When you don't take the herb, miss a dose or abruptly stop the herb, the faucet goes off. When and up-and-down intake is ingested, it can cause an up-and-down milk supply.  With inconsistent Fenugreek intake (like could be present in multi-ingredient products containing Fenugreek), the product may not work for you at all, it may cause the inconsistent or up-and-down milk supply issue as mentioned, or for some women, may even cause a decrease in their supply altogether.  (And some women may do just fine with the multi-ingredient Fenugreek product too, but many of the women we've worked with over the years have had some problems - or more often, no results - with a multi-ingredient Fenugreek product.)  Every woman's body is different and may experience different results.  We recommend using Fenugreek for those who have more significant problems with their milk production.  Herb Lore offers it as a single herb product (not combined with anything else). This makes it extremely easy to use and regulate, making it much more effective for the user and increases their chances of success.

Fenugreek can also cause gas in either mom or baby, and because of this, we suggest trying the Nursing Tea Moringa Blend (or Tincture) first to see if that's all that's needed, especially when the baby is newly born or is a preemie (when their digestive systems are not yet mature and may be sensitive), or if the baby has a tendency towards gas. Please see our article on Fenugreek for further information, or our more comprehensive and detailed article on how to increase low breastmilk production under our Premium Articles section.

The herbs contained in Herb Lore's Nursing Tea Moringa Blend and Nursing Tincture Moringa Blend are all organic, contain no caffeine, preservatives or additives, and are of the freshest and highest quality. We make our products in smaller batches, ensuring their freshness.  If you've ever cooked with herbs and spices, you know how much of a difference it makes when using a fresh herb.  The same applies here.  The tea comes in a tamper-evident, resealable pouch, which is air-tight and moisture-proof to keep your tea in the freshest condition possible. The tincture (liquid extract) is available in either an alcohol-based version, which is recommended, or a non-alcohol version, which is extracted in vegetable glycerine and distilled water. The alcohol-based tinctures are recommended due to the fact that alcohol extracts more of the medicinal properties of the herb. (Alcohol-based tinctures are safe for use by pregnant and nursing mothers, as the actual alcohol content per dose is the equivalent of eating a very ripe banana.  You can read more about the safety factor HERE.) The non-alcohol tinctures are still quite potent and effective and are a great choice for those who prefer a non-alcohol product.

This combination contains the following herbs:

Fennel Seed - increases breastmilk production while helping to alleviate gas in both mother and baby. Helps to soothe indigestion and heartburn, aids in bowel movements and prevents any associated cramping or griping. Helps soothe colic in babies (mom ingests the tea and it passes to the baby via breastmilk).

Moringa Leaf - Known around the world as the Miracle Tree, this herb is extremely high in vitamins, minerals (including iron), essential amino acids and antioxidants, and is a superfood used as a valuable food source for many cultures around the world.  Click HERE for more information on this amazing herb.

Red Raspberry Leaf - this herb is highly nutritive and assists in the production of plentiful breastmilk. It also helps the uterus to recover more quickly after birth, as one of its main functions is to tone and strengthen the uterine muscle.

Nettle Leaf - contains nearly every vitamin and mineral necessary for human growth and health. Abundant in vitamins A, C, D, and K, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, and sulfur. Nettle contains more chlorophyll than any other herb, which is important to clean, purify and oxygenate the blood. It guards against anemia, helps gently relieve constipation, supports kidney function, and is extremely nutritious. It eases leg cramps and other muscle spasms and pain due to its high calcium content. (Nettle and Raspberry Leaf contain calcium in its most absorbable form. Spinach, chocolate, rhubarb and brewers yeast will interfere with the absorption of calcium, and calcium supplements made of bone meal and oyster shell should be avoided as they are not as easily absorbed in the body and they have been shown to contain high levels of lead, mercury, cadmium, and other toxic metals.) Nettle prevents hemorrhage due to its high Vitamin K content, and its astringency and nourishing action helps to reduce hemorrhoids by tightening and strengthening blood vessels. It also will increase the richness, vitamin content and amount of breast milk.

Alfalfa - Alfalfa is similar to Nettle in that it is highly nutritious, and contains nearly every vitamin and mineral known to man. It contains 8 essential amino acids for good digestion and helps relieve nausea. It is extremely high in chlorophyll, which helps with blood oxygenation and purification, and helps to correct constipation. Most chlorophyll products are made from Alfalfa. It is very high in Vitamin K, which helps coagulate bleeding. It's highly nutritious and helps to increase the richness and amount of breastmilk.

Chamomile - relaxing, soothing and calming to the entire system. Helps with digestion and nausea, and is also high in calcium. The essential oil of Chamomile is anti-inflammatory in nature and is wonderful in healing swellings, achy joints and other inflammations. Rosemary Gladstar states "This delicate, gentle flower is a must for pregnant (and nursing) women. Its sunny disposition is helpful for lifting the spirits and its calming relaxing attributes are very soothing to the soul."

Testimonial

I started buying the Nursing Tincture Moringa Blend because I was having big problems breastfeeding my baby "A". By the time I tried your product, I had been working with a lactation consultant and tried various other products...nothing was really working until a neighbor suggested your tincture. We tried it and he nursed until he was 4 years old (he is now almost 13 years old, 5'9" and very healthy). Later I tandem nursed him and baby "N" while pregnant with baby "W".  Since then we've used your Cold Comfort Tincture and your Quiet Cough Tincture every winter.  The boys rarely get sick, sometimes they even skip a year, but when they do I know that if I have your product on hand we will be well before morning!  And we always have your product on hand!  The Quiet Cough Tincture is simply magical - it has helped me put the boys to sleep and catch some uninterrupted sleep. So very grateful for you!  D.G.
